Bill only did the cover on this one, but he went 'all out' and I have loved it ever since. It broke my heart when I learned he had passed and I knew that his greatness would be seen no more outside of back issues. 

Is it my absolute favorite? I thought about all of the choices and kept coming back to this one.

Yeah, I haven't seen all the horror covers or westerns from this era... some of the westerns with Severin covers are some of my favorite western covers of all ages... and the Kane covers ... all the picture frames? I could have easily changed my mind 50 times. It would have been hard to choose best covers for each of the main artists from those days. This was a very tall order to pick just one. My choice might be different a year from now. GOD BLESS...

On the edge of the Bronze Age.. Machine Man Vol 2.. it was hard for me to pick just one of the four covers from this mini series.. but I'm going to plump for #2. Some of Barry Windsor-Smith's best work done on these books in my opinion, the writing didn't quite meet the level of the art, but it's an entertaining read nonetheless. I'm fond of Machine Man and wish they had utilised the character more.
