This is very cool, but I hope they are prepared for the deluge of people asking, "Hey, why doesn't this CGC 9.6 White Pages Alf #48 have any grader notes?"

CGC got rid of a small revenue stream of people paying for graders notes.

CGC created a large revenue stream of people checking graders notes to see if a crack-press-resubmit will result in a higher grade.

Yes, brilliant decision.

I bet they could maintain that front end money by creating a dashboard feature that kicks in at Premium or Elite Level members that ranks the top 50 books by # of grader note requests over the past 7 days.

Do the notes include damage done by the encapsulation team post-grading?

Only where the grader owns a Tardis :)

Exactly, the opposite of penny wise, pound foolish.

Self interested moves that appear to be motivated out of general benevolence are the best.  That said, I’m very happy to see they did this, it’s also of great benefit to individual collectors of books that have actual graders notes (ie not people playing the 9.6-9.8 game), in particular picky GA collectors.

Of course we’ll have to see if this is followed up with a general price increase across all tiers  to cover ‘the cost’ of giving everyone these graders notes…

They're doing the notes anyway... I think the problem all along was that the data wasn't being stored in a shareable format, now, with the new upgrades, this may have been corrected. It shouldn't really add much cost to the "value stream" ... the customer goodwill is an intangible that transcends cost.... AND the feature may drive new paid memberships. It shows or "implies" that a company cares about their clientele by supporting and standing behind their services and product line. It's really a no-brainer on their end. Bravo CGC :golfclap: Transparency is an impetus to evolution.  GOD BLESS...

It would have been graded prior to encapsulation so sadly… no…

That means that it WAS an 8.5 now due to problems with encapsulation it might be lower.
