It would have been graded prior to encapsulation so sadly… no…

That means that it WAS an 8.5 now due to problems with encapsulation it might be lower.

You know, thinking about it, and taking a hard look at the spine, I'm really doubting this happened post grading

Unless the notes specify an inside defect, I'm betting this happened post received, pre grading

Easiest $25 I've ever spent, I had over five books already I wanted the notes for so this was an instant purchase. Makes buying slabs also much better now that I can get a better idea about the book without having to spend extra money.

100% best Christmas miracle of the season.

edit: miscounted how many books I wanted notes for and it was actually 12 books that I've held off buying the notes for - so this just paid for itself.

I may do this as well.

What else does the $25 get you other than notes?

I have to imagine this was to combat everyone who said they weren't going to renew membership given the TATs and QC issues.

I'm still not gonna renew. Notes for books that are all screwed up still have no value IMO.

While we're on the topic of notes I think the notes themselves need some consistency. No more of this some books get them and some don't. Graders shouldn't be able to pick and choose which books get notes and which ones don't. It comes off looking like favoritism or laziness. Your book is 9.6 or less put why in the notes. No exceptions.

Ironically, the 9.6 books I own that I did not have graded were the first ones I wanted to see, so far all have come back notes unavailable.

For me, the $25 for grader's notes is a bargain. I hardly make a big purchase anymore without them. I was probably spending $75-$100 a year buying them individually, to decide whether to make purchases or not.

I agree. Internally, they must have notes for every book. Why not share them?

I'm not gonna renew unless I get all my books back that they've been holding hostage since last spring!

It feels like CGC is going down the list of things that have been broken for a long time and is systematically starting to set things right (professional moderation, graders’ notes with subscription, etc.).

Yes, there is more to be done, but this is real progress and I appreciate it.
