It’s been confirmed to NOT be the Edgar Church/Mile High copy that sold.

Looks like the alert got changed to “ungraded copy” I think they had it wrong

The updated notification just states that it was an ungraded copy and not that copy.

Not sure where they got their information from before anyone in the know on this forum reporting on it.

Have no clue but I'm sure that more information will come up.

That price would be too cheap for that copy anyways.

I thought it was interesting. Though I didn’t believe it since I doubt the Edgar Church copy would go for $4.5M. That seems way too low.

If it were to get graded, wouldn’t it be a 9.4? I’m sure it would be the highest graded copy.

I had the notification too.

Suppose this copy will end up pressed and graded, wonder where it will end up.

Is that mid-grade dip a faux pas or color-coded reference to restored copies? hm

This thread belongs in Comics General as Randall has pointed out. We discuss comics here, not fantasy.

It belongs in both, as we do dispel fantasy here, after all.

The Church note is out now it's just a copy so this could be true May be an image of text that says 'RECORD BREAKER: ACTION COMICS #1 12/17/2021 A private sale for an ungraded Action Comics #1 sold for over $4.5 million dolars making it the new historical record for a comic book sale LLVY COMICS Action Comics #1 $185K LOW $1.1M MID $4.6M HIGH'

I saw the updated note. If this is true and a copy of Action #1 did sell for that amount, I can’t help but wonder if details about the transaction will emerge soon.

It can’t be a record breaking sale when it’s unverified.

Isn't the Church copy ungraded?

Yes and it’s been estimated to grade around a 9.4 or so.

Isn’t the famous 1804 Silver dollar on par with a Action #1 price wise?

Still a ways to go for a comic to catch the high sale for the 1804 dollar, at a cool $7.68M
