Hypothetical question: assuming this WWBN 32 is "mint" otherwise, how would the original manufacture’s cut affect the grade?

(to me this is kind of cooler honestly as in it’s more unique, but I understand the love of straight lines as well)

thank u

I’ve seen a fair share and own a few miswrapped 9.8s

that’s a great copy, lots of other spine issues to consider before the miswrap, but I think any copy of that issue is worth slabbing regardless of the grade.

Color breaking spine ticks and a blunted top corner but that’s an easy 8.0 IMO

Thank you for your opinion appreciate that.

Now do you think there is anything that can be done to maybe increase it's grade a bit? I dont see how pressing would help its a raw book and pretty damn flat... But Im just guessing Im a noob.

The spine tick seems like something you'd have to live with i guess?

Yea once they break color you can’t do anything. And I think I can see about 8 or so of them on the spine. You could still get it cleaned and pressed prior to grading. I’m thinking the grade could land anywhere between 8.0-9.0

Assuming this was, as you hypothetically stated, 9.8 quality. If this was a CGC slabbed 9.8 (no apparent wear) and auctioned consecutively, say 5 minutes or less apart from a well centered one CGC 9.8, the inferior eye-appeal of this due to a severe miswrap, IMO, this 9.8 would bring 75% the result of the well centered one.

A month from now, someone would look at GP and might fathom that the value of the book had taken a dip, not knowing the full reason as to why.

And now this happens!
