PGM FF #20 4 4

Here is my copy of Fantastic Four #20. It is my goal to have FF #1 - #20 in CGC-graded slabs. Currently, I have issues #1 - #10 and #12 in slabs; also, issue #13 is currently at CFP, before heading to CGC. With your help, I hope to determine if my remaining issues are slab worthy.

Here are the issues as I see them:

A name is written across the words “COMIC MAGAZINE!” and the CCA stamp. There is a significant color-breaking crease that passes through the “a” of “Fantastic,” but the color-breaking portion seems to stop at the purple color of the masthead. There is significant creasing along the left-hand side of the front cover. There is a non-color-breaking crease at the bottom right-hand corner of the front cover. There is a small color-breaking crease at the upper right-hand corner of the front cover. There is a small amount of what appears to be white-out at the middle of the back cover, although you can’t feel any difference when you run your finger over it. There is a small stain at the bottom left-hand corner of the back cover. There is a crease that looks like a tear at the middle left-hand side of the back cover, but it is only a crease. There are some small tears at the bottom of 2 - 3 interior pages.

 

I would really like to know if that white-out on the back cover would be considered restoration. Is this something that could be dealt with by sending it to CCS for restoration removal? If so, I would prefer to just sell this book, and put the proceeds toward purchasing a different copy. What are your thoughts? Thank you so much for your time and consideration.

I wouldn't call is restoration. What's the point of the white out? An attempt to cover a flaw does not appear to be it's purpose.

The ink on the cover would really bug me if I were putting together a run.  That being said, there are plenty of copies out there allowing for an upgrade.

Thank you for your input. Perhaps this is a book that I should think about upgrading.
