Newbie ? Would you get this graded? Pressed?

So, found my copy of New Mutants #98 in an old box.  Questions are, should i even bother grading it with the color break crease top right? If so, is it worth getting pressed, because pressing will not effect the color break correct? Anyway, thanks

An 8.5 sells for a decent amount, but right now what it's worth is not enough for me to send it in, especially since we're not sure what the grade would be after a press.

A press will help cosmetically, IMO.  Doubtful the grade will improve much, if at all. (shrug)

If you’re looking to sell it graded…I myself wouldn’t bother.  If you want one for your PC, you can find a better copy…raw or graded. 👍🖖

Welcome to the boards!!!

For future reference, without that color break on the crease, are the other issues something that pressing would help improve the grading? Thanks for the responses

The book will undoubtedly benefit from a press.  What the final grade will be is anyone's guess because we can't see the back cover and we don't know what else is going on with the book.  But the warping on the top and bottom corners along the right edge will improve dramatically from a press.  This will improve the grade at least a full 1.0 in my opinion, assuming there isn't anything major on the book that we can't see.

I wouldn't submit it because who knows what the book will be worth in a year when you get it back. It's hot right now so I'd sell it as is, unless you know a presser who does great work and has no waiting time.

Yes it would, for sure. And with this type of book, the real money is in higher grades, so you want to get that extra point as much as possible.

But to further confirm, yeah, in that state a press would not be worthwhile. I honestly think you'd make more money total by selling this book raw. The colour break makes the grading more obvious that a CGC slab is unecessary.
