GMcGurty
I recently received some comics back from grading and was a bit disappointed with a couple of the grades. Looking at similar grades on EBay, mine appear much nicer. Does CGC seem to be consistent no matter what year the comic or are they more forgiving on older comics?? Thanks!! As with both major grading companies, they have periods of greater and worst consistency. As well as periods of tighter grading and looser grading. I haven't been around long enough to know which periods coincide with what, but that's what I gathered from some of the other old fogies around here. theCapraAegagrus
CGC is as consistent as any group of graders would be. Everybody makes mistakes, though. Technical flaws and visual flaws may impact books differently. Things such as MFG defects may be ignored on 1 book, making it appear worse, but it is considered to be a better grade. That's just 1 example. Edited February 8, 2022 by theCapraAegagrus KCOComics, Math Teacher and ExNihilo
