What’s the deal with Star Wars 8 (from the original 1977 series)?  9.8s are far more expensive than Star Wars 3-6, which are part of the serialization of A New Hope, and issue 7, which is billed as the first Expanded Universe issue. In 2020 the average price for a 9.8 issue 8 was $143, the 2021 average was $540, the 90-day average is $960 and the last sale was $1050 (all per GPA).  I know it is billed as the first appearance of Jaxxon.  But as far as I know that is a minor character never appearing in a film or tv show which looks like an anthropomorphic rabbit.  Are there some rumors out there sparking this price explosion?

Pizzazz #1 is first actual Extended Universe story. Star Wars 7 is wrongly attributed by CGC

#7 is my personal favorite Star Wars cover. As for SW8 the 9.8 pop is lower than the books around it and appears a bit more difficult to score a 9.8 than issue 7 and 9 . Still very odd to me that it's so in demand, perhaps some talking head hyped it on some youtub channel?
