It was a lot smaller than previous Calgary Expo's as it was a single bay. I have been at Calgary Expos where they had 3 bays filled with vendors.

I actually really liked the size of 2022 as the single bay made it relatively easy to get around from one booth to another. I escorted many potential buyers around looking for books I did not have to show them what I found when I browsed on Wednesday/Setup day otherwise known as "Dealer Day"

Ah. Yeah normally its all 3 bays, and the basement of the Big 4

I believe last year was just one bay as well

Based on attendance, I think you’ll see more vendors next year. I thought it was a nice result considering the past 2 years.

Never heard of this Zach guy, so I assume he must be a newbie working for them.  (shrug)

Since your books needed grading first why didn't you simply give it to them to submit it in for you since it seems that CGC tends to go quite "soft" when it comes to grading submissions from Heritage? hm

That and they seem to get VERY quick turnaround times…

Theft?  A profit-motivated offense?

Heard that Fan Expo trying to set up a nominal $100 insurance premium per event for vendors in case of theft, shoplifting. Now u just have to prove value of your ASM 1 or full size Yoda that got lifted.

Bought a set of 6 scarce DC commemorative stamps circa 1976.

They are already in for pressing. Just need to be graded after that.

Maybe Zach was a local volunteer?

Will depend on cost of booth which seems to go up every year.

And the cost of doing the show. I heard that some of the out of town vendors were questioning whether they would return due to increased booth costs, increased shipping costs, and the fact that the show was slow for them this year on older books. It sounds like some of them may be passing on Edmonton in the fall, which is fine by me. :flipbait:

I did hear that the Stompede Grounds will be raising the cost of the venue next year for FanExpo. This will be passed through to the attendees and the vendors. The cost for next year is a smidge lower for us with the 20% discount for renewing prior to the end of the show yesterday. If we did not, it would have been a significant increase.

Guess Stampede Grounds has to cover the large renovation $$ to the Big 4 Building some how. Dealer's badge went from $85 to $109 then up  :deadhorse:next year.

Great pick-up Karl, what's the grade on the IH 181?

It had a stain on the back which i was able to get off with my artists kneadable eraser. It presents like an 8.0 possibly an 8.5 but it has quite a bit of the production related speckling along the spine side of the book and it will depend on what CGC decides on the given day. We also bought a CGC 6.5 Hulk 181
