Thanks @F For Fake - sounds like a solid gameplan.

As for the Psycho Killers, I got to sit and look - almost all of them have a sold at/around $10 with shipping, so pretty much going with that, and ignoring the higher prices or crazy guides.

But... This one is the exception to the rest.

And of course the optimistic folks:

I used to use the tool to see the actual best offer accepted, but it quit working about a year ago, but my copy is pristine, easily a high NM, where would you price this one?

Wow, that's nutty! I picked up a large collection of "serial killer" books in a collection several years ago, I clearly sold them off way too early and cheap! I love horror stuff, but the real killer stuff is a little too distasteful for me, not something I'd hang onto.

As for selling, I guess it depends on if you're wanting to turn it over quickly. If you don't mind risking it sitting around for a bit, I'd stick $125 on it (assuming it's in grade) and see if I get any nibbles! If not, you can always drop it to $100, and further, if need be. If you're only selling in person, these sales will depend largely on your clientele. The nice folks at the coin show may not be looking for this sort of material ha But in the larger world of eBay, the collectors of this stuff are definitely out there! Good luck with it!

More great advice as always.  I'll do that and put it in the case at the shop for now.  It may be a candidate if I do a box of stuff to that comicshop.com site.  I did have 2 coin dealers buy any horror stuff I had in those auction buy boxes last show, I'm going to try to get a more narrowed down want lists for the show after this Sunday, so you never know.

Ha, well, free advice is worth what you paid for it, but I hope you have good luck with them! There definitely is a market for this stuff, hopefully you can find your buyers. And like I said, you can always mark it down later if it doesn't move. You never know who is out there.

Had a busy last few days, but got to dig into 2 1/2 Star Trek themed boxes today.

Funny thing is none of this stuff was priced, and it's all complete sets/runs (except "books") But Annuals, specials, oneshots, most variants, etc. He was missing 1 annual and two single issues in the newer Voyager series, but I may have those in the other boxes.

Hi Guys!

Got some projects caught up around the house.  Still around reading and learning. Sales are picking up at the coin shop now that word is getting around.  Getting a little bit of room in some of the boxes to try to incorporate some of those mixed boxes up into the right place, so that is nice.  The comic sales/traffic is driving some sales of the other stuff in the shop, so everybody is happy so far.  Did a few more sales through PMs here and sending in a group of the higher priced things to mycomicstore at the moment.  Should have the project paid for next month.

With my little bit of knowledge I gained from this project with pricing and titles, am able to look at online auctions (not eBay -  mostly lots while waiting on coins) and have a much better understanding of values and have got a few good deals in the last few weeks (Like full run of Tank Girl/Tank Girl2 for under $1 type deals).

Then today at a yard sale, guy had three short boxes of comics.  Two raw 80% full priced 25 cents each, and one 75% full bagged and boarded priced individually (His prices totaled $221).  Did the "What do you want for all 3 boxes" thing.  He flipped, did some math, says nobody has really looked at them - "How about $60 for all".  Well - I'm a sucker for basically a lottery ticket, and actually most of the titles weren't ones I had in my last project, some a little older, some newer I didn't get to learn much about, so was kind of excited to take the chance and learn more so I own those now.  Plus I get to work on my grading since the last group was mostly unread lock NM new old-stock.  These I'll have to grade better to price them accordingly, can't blindly go down the NM/9.4 guide column.

Since you all seemed to like my last adventure, here is what is in the first Yard Sale Box (His bagged/boarded box).  He had them priced $221 total.  I repriced them after looking them all up to total: $495

The newer stuff was mostly VF/NM, the older stuff VG/VF for the most part.  Couple of exceptions, but:

Here is what is in the 2 boxes of raw he had marked 25 cents each.  I'm not expecting much, but tried to sort them by cover price to see what I was dealing with.  Some older stuff in lower grades, then a lot of newer, so I get to dig through all this tonight after a Birthday Party.

I enjoyed reading Miracleman (you show a #1 on your list).  There may be a very slim chance you have a UK copy with a yellow back cover ($$$).  Otherwise, if it's not NM it's not worth a whole lot.

In your photo I see a Fatale.  Brubaker & Phillips have done some wonderful story-telling.

@Yorick
eBay has sold comps on Miracleman #1 graded 9.8's $200 - $400.  Raws in the VF/NM range there are dozens sold between $20-$40.  I'd call mine low NM/High VF, think I marked it $20, but it's not the UK versions.

@davet75
Glad you enjoyed the adventure, I know I sure am so far.

And here's what was in the 2 raw "Quarter" boxes.  I broke it up for the stuff 75-cents and lower first.  Most of this stuff was lower grade, don't think I had but 2 things tagged over $5, the rest got boarded/bagged at $2/3 or left raw in a box to make a 50-cent or $1 box, just didn't feel like bagging some of this.  Don't get me wrong, if some of these were NM, a lot of $25-50+ books, but most of them were Good/VG, maybe a Fine here and there or only $2 in NM type things.

The rest of the raw stuff.  Sorry so long, was hoping for more runs vs a ton of individual comics.  I ended up with about 1/2 this staying raw for that .50 cent box and bagged/boarded about one short box with the rest.  What this guy had for quarter boxes had more value than some of those whole indie long boxes I dug through last month lol.   Nothing super valuable, but for basically free, had a few over $10, a dozen or so in that $5-10 range, then the rest of what was bagged up around $3.  Most of this group was NM

I used to collect buffalo nickels! I still put any nickel pre-1964 aside as I used to do with any coin, except nickels are the only ones left in circulation now. I do what he does. It is just a nice demarcation date even though it is meaningless for nickels. But if I see an old nickel in my change I keep it and I use 1964 as my cutoff.
