So, what are the odds I can get a copy?

The CGC Census shows 31 total copies graded (all grades) in the past 19 years, so they are "out there". Unfortunately, GPA doesn't show any CGC 9.8 sales since 2009 so the books generally don't change hands often and when they do, it's a private sale.

Just because I found it in the $1 bin last year.

I'm not big on collecting Star Wars, but I have been blessed to find some "rarities" throughout bin diving. I even found a 35 cent variant, but it isn't a "modern per se."

My modern "grail" is Thanos 11 from 2004 in 9.8 condition They're out there, but none that I can get my hands on. Here's one of my raw copies, not 9.8 worthy. I'd also like to pick up Kanan the Last Padawan #1, 5, and 6 all in 9.8's.

Nice, I think the only reason I've not hunted down that amazing Fury variant is because it isn't part of the Hellboy first year set (1993-1994) - and I know once I start buying grails outside of that my wallet is going to be in big danger  I do also have a CGC 9.8 of Seed of Destruction #1.

I'm looking to upgrade my SDCC to a 9.8, though in that case since the cover isn't by Mignola I'm not concerned with getting it signed as well.

You know, for a minute I also had misread this thread to think that you pulled that 9.4 Batman Beyond #1 out of a dollar bin. And I guess I've become so accustomed to being jealous of posts in that dollar bin thread that I just sort of shrugged it off as of course there are Batman Beyond #1s in other people's dollar bins.

My local dollar bins have like filler Batdrek in solid 2.5 grades and reader-grade indies so bad that I don't even collect them.

Nope, this is my current copy. Just happens to be a 9.4 also.

I just realized that the serial numbers do not match, but I went off the last four of 5001, my mistake. I'll thrash myself at a later date. Nevertheless, nice copy!!!
