Ditko

Romita

Sal Buscema

And an honorable mention for Frenz. Loved his work on the title, but I feel he’s just behind these 4. No knock on any I’ve left out, either. Spidey has had a lot of spectacular artists.

Totally agree that there’s plenty debate, and many left behind. Bagley, Saviuk, Stegman, Larsen, Romita JR., etc.

Indeed. I somehow blanked on JRJR, who I would slide in right next to Frenz. On any given day, I could see sliding any of them into Sal’s spot, but I’d have him on the mountain most of the time. Love Bagely and Larsen, too. Vess drew a beautiful Spidey. We’re all winners here with this group of artists. :foryou:

Ditko, Romita Sr, and McFarlane are a lock for obvious reasons. But I am making a nomination for Bagley in the modern era. Ultimate was a huge, unbroken run that brought in a whole generation of new readers.
