Unfortunately I have the same thinking.  I was really looking forward to Moon Knight and I thought at best that one was ok.  Anyone know why they're not bringing back Deborah Wolf? I thought she did a great job on the netflix Daredevil.

Don’t know that they’re officially not bringing her back, I don’t think there’s been any announcement. That said, at first I didn’t like her casting or Elden Hensen. Hensen grew on my as Foggy, but Wohl never did as Karen. I hope they re-cast Karen - I just don’t buy Wohl as a heroin addicted porn star. Really, really looking forward to this series though! I don’t think they could’ve done a better job with Cox or D’Onofrio, so I’m really glad they’re both back.

In an interview with NME, star Charlie Cox — who first embodied the Nelson and Murdock Law Office co-founder and blind vigilante for three seasons starting in 2015 — clarified that fans of the original series should expect some similarities within the Disney+ show Daredevil: Born Again when it comes to its tone.

 

But the actor also cautioned, as someone who believes “this character works best when he’s geared towards a slightly more mature audience,” that other things will definitely be different. “My instinct is that on Disney+ it will be dark but it probably won’t be as gory,” he said.

When exactly he'll have to suit up again, be it as the blind lawyer or the horned superhero, Cox is not sure yet. "I don't have an actual date. I believe it's like the first quarter of next year. So I'm imagining February or March." Yet, as Cox implied earlier, Born Again's 18-episode order from Disney (an unprecedented number for a Marvel show) gives the series plenty of time to explore Matt Murdock's non-vigilante legal exploits.

I really liked her as Karen Page. I'm on the other side thinking that it would suck to see her go - and I would love to see the heroin-addict Karen Page performance from her. But, it's a matter of preference, I suppose. I thought she was great, and I also liked her in The Punisher - but to each their own!

Jon Bernthal is returning to his most punishing role. The actor will reprise Frank Castle, aka anti-hero The Punisher, in Marvel Studios’ Daredevil: Born Again, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.

 

Bernthal joins Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio in the series, which begins shooting in New York this month. As opposed to other Marvel series, which come in at six or nine episodes per season, Born Again is planned as a whopping 18-episode epic. Writers and executive producers Matt Corman and Chris Ord are behind the show which is expected to bow in the spring of 2024.

 

In late 2021, Bernthal spoke with THR about the possibility of Frank Castle joining the MCU, and indicated he would hope to retain the darkness of the Netflix portrayal.

 

“I think if there’s any let up on that character, you do a disservice to the character, to every iteration of the character, to every comic book that’s come before, and to all of the unbelievable fans of the character,” said the actor. “This character means so much to people in the military. So like I said before, it’s not about whether you do the character; it’s about whether you can do it right, and I’m only interested in doing it right.”

Would like to hear the reasoning why behind this? I believe someone in another thread pointed out how Marvel movies and shows seems to have less civilian characters but more and more heroes, one of the big reasons I think they're declining in quality.  I wonder if they're just not going to be in the show or they're recasting them.  Kind of hard to have a 18 episode  DD without Foggy.

Putting together a show like this with a big cast requires some changes, just because of actors’ schedules. I don’t know if that happened here, but I know Wohl wanted to come back. Have to assume they’ll be recast as it’s hard to see how you could go anywhere  near the Born Again storyline without Karen and Foggy. I won’t mind seeing a new Karen.

Punisher would be a huge draw on the big screen. If Disney ever embraces the dark and violent stories that drive characters like the Punisher and DD, they’d be great on the big screen because they’d pull in the older audiences. The Punisher on Netflix was fantastic, and I’d love to see it on the big screen.
