Uf4 the face of miles on the cover isnt visible on the 1st print its hid behind the title. There is also a marvel box, that is not red

I dont think there is a final answer to print runs most of the time, kind of a touchy subject.

There are things like TMNT 1 that the print runs are well known, but that does not happen often.

There is an easy way to tell first and later printings, as well as variant covers on non-newsstand books by reading the final top line numbers of the barcode. Granted, when there are 1000 covers for a book sometimes this goes out the window.

Issue #1 (001), Cover A (1), 1st Print (1)

Issue #1 (001) Cover A (1), 2nd Print (2)

Issue #20 (020), Cover B (2), 1st Print (1)

Make sure the barcode does show it to be #4 not #1.  Otherwise it is the facsimile edition.  Some did slip through getting labeled as the real deal.

1st print should look like this -

Sure, it's easy... as long as the publisher actually followed that standard on the issue you're looking at, 1000 variants or not.

But it does work on the issue that is the subject of this thread, at least.

Another way to tell is on the facsimile, the Marvel logo in the upper left corner on the corner is RED. The original is BLACK.

I was asked this question by someone who collects modern comics.

This copy has the red Marvel in the left corner.

What's confusing is Mile's Morales' face is not showing.

it does not have all the info in the white box and it ends in 111.

How do I value this book? That is, it was bought from a comic store.

2nd printing has red marvel and you can see Miles face. So I hear facsimile, but it was released by Marvel, correct? I read every post but I'm still confused and would appreciate some help.

If you guys look at the cover in the picture, is this a second printing or what? 😆

correct! AND he beat me to it, what you'd see in 1st print (to answer "other questions") is

1) you'd want the white marvel for 1st print, and

2) to have the barcode pulled away from the spine, not right up against the edge

2nd printing has no Marvel (on the left top edge).  It has a black Marvel on the right top edge.

Easy check:

1) 1st print (standing Miles) from 2011 is WHITE Marvel top left, no face visible Miles (00411 in UPC)

2) 2nd print (standing Miles) from 2011 is NO Marvel top left, visible face Miles (00431 in UPC - actually means 3rd cover 1st print, but it says Second Printing on the top right)

3) Reprint/facsimile (standing Miles) from 2021 is RED Marvel top left, no face visible Miles (00111 in UPC)

That wasn't the only issue. CGC even messed up and graded a few of those as 1st prints.
