I think what Hector was saying is there was not a swarm of buyers running around on Friday which is usually the best day for flippers and the bigger buyers.  100% to be expected considering what I’ve been seeing over the last month or so in terms of books selling on ebay or the boards.  Hope it picked up

Ya I figured, I just didn't know if it was because of my photos, because I took them upon entering. Not a lot of people at food court when just opening etc and there "ended up" with quite a few later on. I wanted to clarify in case my pics gave the wrong impression.

But again I had forgot how crowded it normally is, until yesterday on Saturday, which was sold out....

so ya Friday was light  especially at the beginning.

I will say most dealers were hospitable. I had a stack of about 13 $10 books that I brought yesterday, and the dealers were pretty cool. As some have stated their prices were a little high to begin with.

First dealer chose 3 (I think it was a vg hawk and dove #1 and vg/f "Fear #20" and I forget the third) out of the stack and gave $35 off a $135 for a Starslayer #2 CGC 9.2. so I paid $100 even GoCollect has that at $110, but last couple of sales as y'all have said have been dismal. It would look as though I got burned, but I don't blame anyone.

The other dealer chose 1 book (an Airboy #5) and took $25 off a "$150 book", which was a copy of Adam Hughes "Dirty Pair" that homages Dave Stevens. So I paid $125

meh it was fun, but first day like you said @1Cool or that @jsilverjanet was alluding to,was better, or for flipping anyway, I enjoyed the room to move around freely most of all

If you looked at "keys" they wanted to impress with price, but they had slabs like ASM #259 cgc 9.6 for $115, and some of the Mcfarlane Run of ASM in 9.6 frr $55 I think that was #304.

Just cause wall slabs in my pics aren't "all of what was there"

No worries!

Ever since he did Amazing Spiderman his prices went up (of course).

Ive got 1 Ottley sketch and he did them in 10 min (with timer) for $100. Heres what I got

Dinosaurus my favorite character!

its in a CGC 9.8 case…

Def not $100 anymore.  Remarks are $150 now. That sort of sketch would run $400+

Why is Friday the best day for flippers/bigger buys?  I always thought Sundays were the best?

In my opinion, Sunday is a great day for dealers with booths that can buy a ton of product from people blowing out stock that the seller doesn’t want to take home.  Set up day or Friday is definitely the best day to scoop up the hot books of the month, new collections hitting the market or books that fell through the cracks in the boxes.

Lol

That was right after this pic with the undertaker, and I was talking about how after walking and standing, I forgot to look alive and smile for the picture. :sorry:

Tall sob my brother is 6'5" and I'm 5'8" for reference, but the undertaker is 6'10"

Hands down, Michael Rooker had the best Q&A I have ever attended. Not only was he engaging and hilarious, but he took the Q&A to the people, with no shortage of hugs!

Get anything that was on your list to get? I had another friend that wanted to do panels, but he was more into the hero acadamia. He did get a sketch, and I spent time with him discussing as it was his first con. He enjoyed it but was also flabbergasted at the prices, as he booked last minute. Still he was already making plans for next year, Haha, this is the way lol

The only thing I got that wasnt posted elsewhere was this 3 picture lenticular cause it helped my brother get his rates cheaper. "Cheaper if you buy more than 1"

It was a weird attraction, as it looked better under the lights of the con, when I got home, it still looked better than a lenticular comic.

Idk  :roflmao:

Mini-me ended up with a signed book from Garrett Gunn and I am waiting on a double signed print and a sketch commission.

Fiancé got a new wired wrapped stone ring of some sort and a couple prints from a local artist friend of mine.

As a family we got a really cool Lenticular print of Giancarlo Esposito inscribed “to the house of EL” (mine and hers last initials)

I literally didn’t look for a single comic.  There were some I wanted to browse for too.

We packed so much into that 9hrs and I wouldn’t change a thing.
