Are Star Trek Comics worth being Graded? I bought 27 of them this weekend for $1 each at a antique store and after looking up each of the 27 found out that as they are they are worth about $225 for all 27 I have an aditional 8 or 10 on top of what i bought this weekend. I wanted to know if they are collectable and/or worth getting graded.

In looking at just the ones you have pictured here, I hate to say it, but even $225 for the lot might be an over-estimation, depending on grade. These are selling for under $10 (some under $5) even for strong grades. You can find the current fees for grading on the cgc website. It'll cost you $24 plus shipping per comic. I'd say you have some wonderful reading material there, but whoever put stuff like "$20 comic for $1" on those tags was not being very honest.

You can check ebay, but a better gauge might be mycomicshop. They have these listed for current sale.

Star Trek comics are not currently in big demand. That could change, as Star Wars books were cold and are now hot, but in the current market, they are worth about what you paid for them. It would cost roughly a thousand dollars to slab them, and you'd be wasting your money.

some star trek comics are worth being graded, some are not.  In most cases it depends on the condition, the issue, and your personal finances and collection preferences.  Do your own research and decide according to your own personal grading criteria.  Good luck.

lol No, unless you only showed us the worst of the worst. They were in the dollar box for a reason.

for most comics you should use 'ebay' SOLD prices to get an idea of what they might fetch on the open market.  Whatever price guide you were using may not be representative, although there are some variations in markets and venues.

And don't cherry-pick any high outliers from the sold prices when there are much lower prices on both sold and available copies.

DC's Star Trek #22 raw for $20 - are you sure? do you have a link? The condition of yours looks to be mid-grade or lower mid-grade making $20 a way too high estimate.

Based on your pics sending any of those books for grading would be a loosing financial proposition for you.

That's usually a good start and makes sense about the marks on the tags. But the seller with the Star Trek 22 seems...off. The real price seems about right, but the shipping is insanely high, and the listing strike me as suspicious. Also, all of these are available on other sites for very cheap.

I'm sorry, but you have what you paid for...maybe not what you were hoping for.

Looks like this one. I'm not the only getting Spideysense going about this listing

Its all up to you.   I am starting to slab mine.  I am NOT doing it for resale, but just to protect them.  At most, most of them will be worth $35.00.  The cost of getting them graded.

Completely unnecessary if your goal is preservation.  Just get mylar, fullback, microchamber paper, and if you really want the full beans, a top loader.
