So this making the rounds on Social Media and I am doing my part to bring it over here. 

This is part of the reason I stopped going to large Cons the last few years, but I've never seen something
this blatant. Read below and form your own opinion. I know there are now several Social media and You tube
sellers I will no longer even think of purchasing from after this. These copies were then sold that night on Whatnot
among other places as well as ebay. I completely understand this person's point of view here
I had to cut it into 4 parts to see it all. Whats even worse is this book is just an acetate overlay nothing fancy.

Its makes our hobby look slimy again. I get partnerships, but this was handled poorly and stinks and reeks 
of entitlement. I could care less about this book, but I feel for the people who wanted it and stood in line to 
watch the majority of the copies leave right in front of them. Then the Influencers who did this think its not
a big deal and blow it off. 

And lastly how CGC graded copies 10.0 and 9.9 for married covers is baffling to me.

I know nothing about this, having been at one Con in 50 years.  But one person in line = one copy.  Period.

This has been going on at cons for at least 20 years, except back then it was mostly exclusive toys and statues, and now has expanded to comics. As long as collectors need their FOMO fix it will keep going.

I think this one was a little different at least from what I can recall. Usually print runs of 750 are limited to how many can be sold to an individual customer. Many times most of those retailers won’t sell to exhibitors before the show (which appeared to be the case here) however I’m surprised that they didn’t put a cap on how many people could purchase 

i saw the line about 30+ deep about 15 minutes before the doors opened and thought about lining up but didn’t think the cover was that great 

books sold for $85 a piece (what I heard) so that person who purchased 125 spent $10k 

Several booths I heard about the complaints and the purchase - curious when that buyer will be named and how well they will sell those books. I assume the majority were dropped off at CGC

Name and shame these lames. 

Or stop flushing money on modern manufactured rarity trash variants that will likely lose 95% of their value inside of a year.

But honestly there's something kinda sus about being mad about a "bunch of well known comic influencers" doing something shady while also not naming a single one. Raising awareness without naming names is kinda just marketing.

Completely agree. Also, if there is really some transgression that's been committed, these things have a way of correcting themselves. Just enjoy the good of the hobby and ignore the BS.

I heard they weren't capping how many anyone could buy. It does take a rocker surgeon to figure out who was going to benefit from that.

Actually I think they are killing conventions by doing this. I don't personally care about this book, but
its perception of it that has the community really pissed off at these influencers and podcasters. 

I know this has gone for years to a certain extent, but this was just blatant. I am happy to see this
spread across our community its put a light on a very slimy part of our hobby.

Black Flag comics is the booth that sold the books. They should be the ones being ripped, not the buyers

It sounds a lot like the speculator nonsense of the 90s-- people buying Death of Superman in multiples and saying on the news that this will cover their kids college expenses in 20 years.   I know I wouldn't pay more than cover for a variant.
