Is having the artist ink a cover they originally drew in pencil viewed as a negative?

I have not actively collected OA since the late 00s and sold off most of my collection in the early 2010s. The only piece I kept was a Cary Nord Conan cover that he did in pencil. He is here at the Edmonton Expo this weekend and I am thinking of checking if he would ink it. Is that a good idea, or should I leave it as it is (pencil)?
