$72K for the first lot of 22 Batman #426 pages

$78K for the second lot of 22 Batman #426 pages

Looks like some fatigue absorbing all of this Death in the Family art in such a short time (Batman #428 22 pager went for $288K in June and #429 22-pager went for $156K in September; granted, both of these are more important issues, but, still a lot to like in #426 for fans of this storyline)

I could go look but I'm lazy :)

The 4 issues were already auctioned, what's left? Covers? (I thought some covers were auctioned too)

#427 interiors, auctioned as two lots of 22 pages each

Thanks a lot.

I wasn't paying attention and thought they were 2 separate issues instead of the one issue being auctioned as 2 separate lots.

So about $3500 per page (check my math) - which, lets face it, is basically what some modern art sells for!

The Excalibur 5 cover at 19.2K was light to me, at least compared to the 16 cover that sold for 96K in April.

I love the Crazy Gang but Excalibure #16 is far superior cover. One of the best featuring Nightcrawler from the run and a great homage to John Carter.

To me, it’s debatable which is better. Regardless, I don’t see the 16 being worth 5x more.

The Dringenberg  Sandman #8 page (Death First Appereance) did pretty well at $102K.

First Sandman page to break $100k that I'm aware of.

The issue features Death's first appearance.  This page does not.

Wow.  $57,600 for a pretty boring Byrne X-men page of Magneto following around Beast in an overcoat.

This one actually grew on me over time.
Magneto in multiple panels, Beast in multiple panels. That top right panel with the X-Men in their circus/captive gear, Mesmero's may be a dud character, but Byrne drew him so cool! There's something good to look at in every panel, and as mentioned, the Magneto storyline was great!

Bargain of the auction

1952 Peanuts Daily, Charlie Brown golfing, really nice one.  I was stuck in a meeting and couldn’t bid   I would have said $40k was the floor on this one.

This was shocking to me.  One of the downsides of not being able to bid on these auctions live but not wanting to put in a massive bid pre-floor auction either.
