anyways, without belaboring the point further, I think the stuff at these kinds of prices levels did fine during that six years, but only fine.

The biggest % increases were on art & comics that were a little more affordable to start with.

The Law of Large Numbers at work. It’s “easier” to 5-bag on four figures than six.

I haven’t paid attention to vintage European sports cars since the mid-1990s but WOW they have not kept up. Cars I only dreamed of then I could pick up today with only the gain on just a few pieces bought in 2017/18!

Sure.    We talk about it, but its instructive to actually see it at play with real heritage results.

IIRC, this book was at $9K+ just a year ago, before jumping the shark, like many key bronze/copper/moderns did

That said, I would think that Swampy #1 cover is big enough that it should be somewhere in the 2.5 to 3.5x range after 6 years. Though, since the owner is Jim H., I'm sure his motivation to sell is low-to-non-existent.

Well, since the owner is Jim, who is to say it's not the house making an offer knowing he won't accept it?

Also Heritage archives really are a gold mine. Hard to overstate the importance of historical pricing data and transparency (despite claims of shilling, etc.) to market health. I play in some areas that have very little of this. Just a small handful of guys privately and quietly buying up the best stuff. I worry if this has a dulling effect on values for this reason.
