AndyFish
Baltimore is a good show, but it's not an "all comics" show-- the focus on Disney Princess' was pretty prominent. Heroes is still the best show of the year as far as I'm concerned, and to be honest I found a lot of great stuff at Salt Lake City, Chicago Fan Expo, C2E2, Rhode Island Comic Con and Little Giant in New Hampshire. It had a good art lineup-- I thought for about ten minutes about signing up for the Frank Miller package but figured it would be a nightmare. Then I ran into him at the Starbucks across the street from the show and got to catch up and have a nice chat. My only time there was about 5 years ago and it was almost exclusively a pop culture show. Out of the hundreds of vendors in that huge convention center maybe 5-7 were primarily comic book dealers and not all of them had golden or silver age books. Popular Post RCheli
I have said many times that it is the promoter's job to get people through the door; it's my job to get them to buy my stuff. Sometimes, the two don't mix. For example, I did a show in Grand Rapids about 7 years ago that got 20k+ attendance for three days. I made about $2k total; many dealers didn't make table. The promoter got people through the door, but they weren't buying what I had. The best shows are the ones where the MANY people want EVERYTHING I have, but those are few and far between. In a real world, you hope about 15-25% of the attendees buy something from you and you go home with loose and empty boxes. I heard from several dealers who did Baltimore, and they all said what many had repeated here: not as much money in the room (expected), many dealers not adjusting their prices to match reality (a shame because they didn't sell), and a little bit of concern about which way prices are going to go (back up, further down, or stagnate). aardvark88, comicjack, alexgross.com and 2 others 4

Yes it was FanX-- biggest crowds I've ever seen, and I've done SDCC and NYCC often, and I found some real Golden Age Gems cheap (posted some over on that thread). jimjum12
