The Donnelly brothers are known as Cool Lines.

They love playing them Mind Games. IMHO easier to consider any art they possess same as if it does not exist. I know several other collectors who share that opinion, in fact thats how I first heard it.

I've been checking their site the last five years....I never remembered seeing prices listed for art.

Are you sure this price was from two years ago?

Yep.  I requested a price on another ditko piece and they sent me a list of all of the ditko pieces they had, with prices. This was 9/23/20.

I will say the page I was looking at was 24k. I balked at the time. When I went back 6 month later it was 36k…

Once logged in, you go to the Settings / Sources page and you uncheck the sources you don't want to see artworks from (click on "Display all" if you don't see any source, by default only the one you deactivated are visible). Don't forget to save your changes!

They crack me up.

On this link, you will find them selling a cover that I own. Bought it off Heritage. I assume that they are too busy to take it down. Every once in awhile I enquire about it. No response. :)

Someone else should inquire and say they love the piece and are willing to pay $120k for it and see what they do

+1

Before doing research here I had reached out to them about some cool House of Secrets covers and splash pages and their asking prices where unbelievable.

I actually assumed they made an error and shot them a reasonable offer based on similar recent sales for similar pieces and they politely, but emphatically declined.

I did enquire after I made that post. Here's the response from Steve (full response in spoiler text, emphasis is his):

MAYER, SHELDON - Sugar and Spike #92 cover, MAYER, SHELDON - Sugar and Spike take up water…skiing? 100% original artwork! Published version was a stat with touched-up inks. - $11,950 = ON SALE FOR ONLY $9,950

He clearly didn't check his inventory or they have an exact copy. The description is accurate for my piece.

The quoted amount is only 3.2x what I paid at auction in January. :)

I think I'll write back and point out the January sale and mention that I know that they've had their ad up for longer than that. We will see.

I'm one of those with only one site blocked and you can guess which one. I'd buy from them, but only in person.

DON'T point out the January sale.  Instead, tell them you'll accept their price, but you really want the piece really quickly so if they can get it to you within 5 days, you'll pay a 50% premium on their asking price, and if within 2 days a 100% premium.

You are braver than I. I don't want to make a commitment that I can't keep even when I know they can't fulfill their side.

If you email them on a specific item, they will send you a price on that item. They will also send you prices on related items.

All at very "reasonable" prices.:roflmao:

Some of "us" have done it on other items to compare notes. But you have to do it sparingly or they stop answering. They put a couple of months between each "inquiry." to avoid poking the bear, and the bears brother.
