Grading prices

I don’t understand this so maybe someone can help me.  So I have very old vintage cigarette sport cards from 1910and the 40s how am I to know the price if I don’t know the grade. And what if I pick the 70 dollar one and it’s not worth say the 10,000 or below so I get my money back or if I pick the cheaper one that says card worth 500 and it’s worth over a thousand then what happens will they still grade it or send it back.  I don’t know why I am having so much trouble figuring this out.   I feel so stupid.  Can someone please break it down for a dummy b.  Thank you
