Yeah I was gunna show you that one to, but didn’t cause it wasn’t blue. Well congrats on the additional get 👌. You should join their site. I get routine email updates from them with new books they get, and they could very well get new copies of any Showcase in, and in high grade.

I did! They have a nice selection and the prices are damn good. And honestly even tho its green its still a steal at 150. last sale on a blue label was 850 so thats 700 off lol, worth!

it looks insanely good,  the 9.4 looks about right, maybe 9.6? the lower detachment seems to be more of a defect instead of a popped staple. from the case itself you cant notice it so i dont mind. the 9.4 blue label i was looking at, actually looks WAY worse then this

Its hard to say since the reason it just that its detached. As I said i consider this more of a printer defect since the staple isnt popped and the comic just came out that way. it def looks like it belongs in the 9.4 range.

I just did a quick rundown of the first 25 issues in the census and come up with the following info; there are no 9.0 copies of issues #2, 5 and 15 and in many cases, there are only one graded at 9.0 and they are the highest graded copies of those particular issues. Amazingly, there is a 9.8 copy of #19 (3rd Adam Strange) showing up if you can believe that. Good luck with you quest, and by the way, if you have that much $$$ to throw at this endeavor, would you mind paying off my mortgage? :wink:

As someone who has collected a complete run of Brave and the Bold (Showcase’s sister magazine) I both applaud your effort and would encourage you to set your sights on the first 30 issues a tad bit lower. I believe you are attempting something that is impossible due to some issues just not existing in your target condition and the 1 or 2 that do not likely to ever be for sale. My Brave and the Bold run is solid (check out the registry, I’m #3 and JLABrad is number 1).

Another run I am closing in on completing is Sugar and Spike (ran the same timeframe as Showcase 1956-1971). I am now at 91 out of 98 issues. I originally set out to do only high grade issues and for the most part have stuck to that but in an effort to complete it have gone for nicely presenting lesser grade copies. Don’t get me wrong, hot damn do I love the look of a high grade rare comic, but I want a complete set. I can always upgrade as they become available. 

I wish you luck on your journey. The best advice you’ve already been given is go for keys early, they can be brutally expensive if you wait. 👏🤞

Thanks for the support and advice. Im still sticking with 9.0 or better but I dont mind upgrading the insanely expensive ones or might try the grading route for those. Nice Brave and the bold run! I actually wanted to do that next but one step at a time lol. My collection just cracked past 50 on the registry! 46 and climbing! The collection to beat is Sam I Am's. His collection is actually insane the one that made my jaw job is his #6 at a 9.0.
