buttock
June 1955, Heath did 5 of 7 Atlas war covers. Battle Action 17 has a lot of Burgos(?) as well. Navy Action 6 has that little guy in the corner that Maneely added unnecessarily IMO. Burgos must have been feeling heavy handed. Professor Echo
Silver Age, I know, but I sure wish someone could wipe out all the stories and dialog from every SEA DEVILS issue and completely rewrite them while still using Heath's stunning art. buttock
Yeesh, only 4 months late. Heath's output for Atlas war covers started going down pretty dramatically after the code. He had dabbled with DC before this, but as of 8/55 when Brave & the Bold 1 came out, his started transitioning over to mostly DC work. I would assume that the security of having a dedicated series with DC was nice, although he was still drawing a lot of non-continuous stories for their war titles. jimjum12, Point Five and damonwad
Popular Post buttock
I think this is the last of it for Atlas war books (I don't have Combat Kelly 35 because those panel covers are just boring). His last work before transitioning to DC was 4/57, although he did the odd story here and there after a couple of years passed. Navy Combat 9 is such a strange cover. The top half is Everett and the bottom half is Heath. Silver Surfer, Sarg, Point Five and 7 others

I forgot how cheaply they were made. When I was a kid, no one I knew had the 2 bucks or the patience to send away for these.
