I wonder also if issue 1 has the yellow costume  and not the iconic costume we all know and love might be a factor?

JSA Secret Files And Origins #1 (1999). 1st appearance of Hawkgirl (Kendra Saunders). An incredibly important modern age character whose first appearance can still be picked up for less than a tenner. She's been not just a Society member, but a star League member too. Seems like a steal to me.

Nothing in the comic world is undervalued anymore, IMO.

I will say that Epic 1 is a pretty cool magazine for the price.

Young me thought this was the most amazing thing to ever happen in comics.  Marvel and DC?  The two most popular teams?  Simonson?  

Still sad this isn't some kind of super valuable book today.  I guess they printed a lot....

Tales to Astonish # 70 first solo Subby circa 1965 for some reason is less than 1/2 'value' of hyped up Subby #1 1968 solo.

Loved Simonson, but always wondered how it would have looked had Byrne done the art.

The Doom Christmas story by Byrne is awesome.  There’s a ton of fun stuff in that book.

1st unauthorized appearance of Bart Simpson is the main attraction though....

 

Also has the Tigers insert if your into that sort of thing

Possibly! But also the stories just aren’t that good and the rogues gallery is mostly forgettable — Bullseye doesn’t even appear until 131, and Elektra, 158. It’s also telling that the most valuable early keys feature characters introduced elsewhere, like Electro, Namor, and Spidey. A value, for sure, but I don’t think it’s UNDER-valued.

Frazetta, Buscema, Pini, Starlin, Suydam.

Some of Starlin’s career best, especially.

I think pulp books and bedsheets and most magazines are severely underpriced compared with comics. 

Think of all the pulp covers that would be labeled as "classics" by the CGC if they were in the comic book format.

Conan 58 - 1st Belit

Overstreet has it wrong as 2nd appearance so it is undervalued - not sure how long it will take them to correct it, if ever, so may not be easy money!

I'm going to shamelessly promote a GA book I own. 

I've always thought this was a classic PCH cover, but it doesn't seem to get a lot of love. Its scarce, so maybe the lack of opportunity helps to keep awareness down, but there were a few copies on eBay for under $1500 (possibly still there) and that just felt cheap for such a cool cover.

Key Collector says 58 is Bellits 1st appearance so that is what matters in year 2022 not what Overstreet says.
