What are your 2023 collecting goals? 3 3

One is to finally get a nice single digit ASM into my collection. For some reason #7 has always been a favourite cover of mine and can be quite a good price for mid grade.

Selling off more then buying..... then buy one major book

Downsize, get rid of duplicates and now unwanted material, and to buy myself something nice.

I'm thinking outside the box but:

A Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes signature series, they cancelled last con and promised to be back this year.

Maybe just more celeb SS and sketch cgc in general.

Fill in some runs a bit, namely ASM minor minor keys and same with X-Men.

Take in a stand up comic show.

Ask for a raise, and be grateful regardless 🤠

The truth is that I rarely stay on -script but always end up buying cool stuff.

2) continue adding to my BA HOS run. 

3) Adding cool GA books as opportunities present themselves.

I am greatly downsizing my SS collection, which will soon be at MCS,

I will be hunting for a grail or two this year including IH 182 and GSXM 1.

It’s been a few years since I’ve done goals and I found when I did I adhered somewhat. Last couple years I’ve bought a lot and read very little. I wanna change that…so for 2023:

1. Read a minimum 10 comics/mags/trades a month. 10 is doable in my busy life and to go even further I shall chronicle my readings in a thread to a) keep me on track and b) provide some with a little light content if interested

2. Buy ASM 39 and 40. I think I missed the boat on getting each in VG range for under $200. Thus I shall aim to get the best copies possible and save accordingly to do so.

3. Find a way to get John Romitas signature on a book. It’s a raw book, ASM 97 signed by Stan and Gil and I just really would love John to finish off the trifecta. It’s a book I cherish a lot and I know this goal may not be possible but I am going to try

1) Get a copy of every single comic book ever published (that still exists).

2) Buy a large scale castle to store them.

2023 Top Ten Collecting Goals (Aside from getting rid of more smaller stuff)

Art

1. Page of Strange Adventures or other Sci-Fi art (All I see are Atomic Knights... and... not my thing)
2. Another nice Spider-man page
3. Another 80's Marvel Pop Culture Page (GI Joe, Transformers, Indiana Jones)
4. Another piece of vintage Disney animation. 

Comics

1. Upgrade a ASM Copy
2. Another WWII Golden Age Cover - Preferably a Walt Disney Comics and Stories issue
3. Superman 24

Toys

1. Lego City Modular 
2. Lego Marvel Modular (Looks like it is an annual thing now) 
3. Finish off the Studio Series Dinobots as they are released,  (Still need Slag and Snarl and Swoop are supposedly being released this year.)

Actually keep the books I add for my PC until the new year for once. I find once I get something I want, the thrill of the hunt is gone and I sell it off.

I have a couple goals some realistic some not.

1. Pick up at least 35 books for my X-Men V2 Registry Set
2. Decide which label I want for an 11 issue run for a new registry set (custom label or Pedigree label)
3. A 9.8 SS X-Men #130
4. Pick up new slab size storage boxes
5. Track down an original Shooter/Infantino page from Adventure Comics #346
   1. Even if I find the page it might be out of my price range.... but maybe not.

Lol if all 11 are pedigree, that would be cool, I hear a lot of people say the current pedigree label really "pops!"
