Yeah, after a flood of JRJR X-men pages at auction that have ranged from "meh" to "pretty good" they landed a consignment sure to get interest.

Must be a memorable story?   I find the art itself hard to look at.    That early style change for JRJR was a bit jarring at times.   But I guess any full page pheonix gets some interest.   What do you think that sells for?

15K? Clean page, Williamson inks, rare full splash of Rachel, decent (but tragic) story, and JR JR's art has an understated Sienkiewicz influence (the New Mutants run predated this by 2 years)

It's first run JRJR X-men. That style is what people are looking for. This subset of OA collectors have driven pages with almost no central characters, and no one in costume, to $5k a pop these last couple of years. Anything with remotely good content or costumed team members on at least half the page seems to be $10k+. 

This isn't just "oh it's phoenix, ignore that it's JRJR". JRJR first run X-men is the main attraction.

At $15k I think I know 6-7 people off the top of my head that would go for it. There hasn't been a full splash from this run at auction for quite a while. The market's been entirely reset on this run in the last 24 months or so, much to my chagrin as I look to add more.
