Yeah, I think the 5 limit is outdated at this point with so much participation. I agree that it should be 10 so people have enough votes to spread around.

I havent voted in all the categories yet, but, in the ones i did, there were definitely more pieces that I wanted to acknowledge/recognize but didn't have the votes to do so. :sorry:

I agree that raising the number of votes permitted would also eliminate the need to break the categories down further. IMO there are already more than enough as it is. 2c

It is a good idea, though with some of the categories I'm wading through right now, I'm struggling to come up with five selections!  Far as I'm aware, you're not obliged to use all of your votes in any one section, so the option of extending from five to ten shouldn't be a problem for those categories I struggle to muster-up much enthusiasm for.

Anyways, on to today's selections . . . Strip art.  Here, extra voting capacity would have worked well as I was spoilt for choice on art I actually like (and would be proud to own):

Nice Batgirl piece, too bad it was submitted by the artist. Always get someone who does not follow the rules. Too late to remove it.

Ah, right missed that one, lol!  To be honest, I'm more focused on the artwork rather than a breakdown of the credits/owner.  I just assume everyone's following the rules.

Some people even vote for their own artwork. Which I will talk to Bill about fixing.

Some people will do anything to get a single vote!  It's when they start congratulating themselves we should really begin to worry!  ;)

This was pretty much my reasoning for the suggestion to allow up to 10 votes in each category. Either that or have a "runoff" after a first round of voting that narrows the selection down to the top ten for a "final" round of voting. But people might have voting fatigue at that point. There were over 1800 pieces of art entered this year.

I think having the # of votes be dependent on the number of entries would be a good idea.

So if a category gets less than X (not sure what a good cutoff would be) number of entries, everyone only gets say 3 votes for that category.

If it gets greater than some Y number of entries, then everyone gets 10 votes in that category.

Then if its between X and Y then we stick with 5 votes

Something like that so it doesn't have to be a flat number for every category.

People get confused enough with 5 votes per category

To be totally honest, the first thought that went through my evil, twisted mind was that Bats was wiping his azz on a roll of  . . . minimal-effort sketch covers  . . .

Another one for Brian and Bill to police?

Armando Huerta - Padme's Force (Adult/Nudity/18+), in P4INTKILLR .'s Pin-up - Armando Huerta (Adult/Nudity/18+) Comic Art Gallery Room (comicartfans.com)

I'm certainly no prude, but I don't think porno 'art' has any place in this competition.
