Just a few refs; any search should reveal many more. Gary Colabuono

had a great article about ashcans in CBM a few years ago; the Thrill 1

was one of the highlights in his mind too (he mailed me a copy of the

article once - will see if I can dig it up).

Heritage's last few ashcans fell far short of the estimates.

Estimate: US $10,000.00 - US $18,700.00

 

5 Cent Comics Ashcan #nn (Fawcett, 1940) CGC NM+ 9.6 White pages

 

Sold at: US $6,000.00

Estimate: US $10,000.00 - US $18,700.00

 

It's surprising that they even sold for that much considering that there is no artwork on the cover except for the logos.
