I can't understand how the writers and directors sit there watching this and say, "yeah, this is what kids want to see, and adults want to pay for" because it clearly isn't. It wreaks of a "my s**t doesn't stink" way of looking at your own product. Bosco685, Mystafo, Microchip and 3 others
godzilla43
Yeah I dunno why Disney / Marvel is so stupid. They are aiming this trash to kids but kids don't know any of those characters( and why would they we don't know any of those characters). If a film is cool with the teenagers then also kids want to see it. Otherwise make a film with known character like Super Mario. Better idea for Disney. Save money and don't make these films and use that money to buy Sony so you will get Spider-Man back. Please no, Disney has too many characters than what they know what to do with (see the current state of the MCU). I'd rather Sony keeps making horrible Spiderman movies than watch the MCU turn Spiderman into whatever Thor has become. Microchip

Yes, Marvel, forget about exploring new characters and new stories and just spin your wheels with Spiderman and X-Men so we can all feel like it was when Sam Raimi and Bryan Singer ruled comics movies and just keep doing that over and over and over like some TVA time loop chamber. Yeah, if you count the 1st X-men (2000) film as the starting point you are talking 23 years of comic movies (with the last 10 or 12 years where they dominated the box-office). Everything runs its course and I think the studios are going to find out that other than the "Big Names", these movies are going to fade off. Fine explore new characters, but you see no pattern in what characters they are putting forward? Comics and superheroes are and will always be a genre with a predominantly male foundation. Women have not been excluded and are in fact very welcom, but the stories and characters have been tailored to that male audience. You can not fundementally change that, and expect not to alientate people. Fans that are essential to the longevity of your brand. You need to do something to maintain your core audience, and they are not doing that. The catch 22, being you can't capture that "new" market without making foundational changes. The end result is the fans you lose far exceed the fans you gain. The humble Watcher lurking and PopKulture

And even had to approach Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield together. And even with Into The Spider-Verse how this influenced ideas within the MCU. theCapraAegagrus and MR SigS 1

Disney revenue for the quarter ending December 31, 2022 was $23.512B, a 7.76% increase year-over-year. Disney revenue for the twelve months ending December 31, 2022 was $84.415B, a 15.66% increase year-over-year. Disney annual revenue for 2022 was $82.722B, a 22.7% increase from 2021. It's a tough environment for cinema and theme parks, and they seem to be bouncing back ok. Revenue haas little meaning as a metric for success. Profit per employee is what matters.
