Popular Post Xatari
Captain Marvel #14 pg 5 I shared this piece on FB yesterday as well. Backstory… when I got back into comics about a decade ago, I was checking out all the new characters on the scene. Miles Morales and Kamala Khan were the clear standouts. Kamala’s family is from Pakistan which has a very similar culture to that of my wife’s family from Northern India. With two daughters myself, Kamala really resonates. Captain Marvel #14 has the very first cameo appearance of Kamala so I avidly pursued copies and did the same when I transitioned into art four years ago. I was able to locate Kamala’s second ever page via Felix (Filipe Andrade) and finally tracked this one down. The owner wasn’t ready to let it go but after several years of communication, we finally came to an agreement, and this one arrived yesterday. I’m very grateful and connections made along the journey. https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=2024742 RBerman, alxjhnsn, Nate Hartz and 7 others

Twanj
Congrats! Dumb question, but is that her in the second panel? I thought she was a teenager?
MDK@cgc
Congrats Xatari… fantastic acquisition and an even better story. Patience and determination pay off… especially in this hobby. And, it’s always awesome when a piece of art creates an emotional connection with its “owner” that goes beyond the pencil & ink. I hope you and your family enjoy this piece for a very long time. Marvel gave Scott Hepburn some loose guidelines from what I recall as Adrian Alphona had done the original design work which was to be featured in a later issue (All-New Marvel Now! Point One #1). Here is the link to Adrian’s work as well which is touring with the Marvel exhibit. https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1703699 Twanj

Xatari
Thanks all! The thrill of the hunt can be so much fun, but crazy enough, it was more a feeling of relief than buyer’s high. I knew it would drive me crazy if it wound up in another collection because I had balked. Twanj, Dr. Balls and Nate Hartz
BuraddoRun
I love hearing the stories behind the art, both the creation and, in your case, the acquisition. Congratulations! Xatari
