Well, here is my very first Heritage auction win which arrived today.  Although it’s labeled as being from the 1983 Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe Book of the Dead #13, my exposure to it (and the main reason I bought it) was from 1987’s The Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe Book of the Dead Deluxe Edition issue #16 page 47, The Changeling by Bill Reinhold (pencils) and Josef Rubinstein (inks):

And while I know it was ultimately revealed that Changeling died a hero saving the X-Men (under the guise of Professor X), I choose to remember him as a villain.  I mean, look at those eyes!  Those are crazy man eyes!

I was going through some old books and I came across this unique little doodle. Found it at a swapmeet years ago for only a $1 and was happy to see what was inside. Verified it with Jim at one of his signings that it was legit a few years ago.

First page art of the year arrived today. Amazing Spider-Man Vol.6 #13 page 10 John Romita Jr./ Scott Hanna. Now I own two jrjr pages both from this run.

When I saw these 2 pages by Jim Aparo come up for sale from Phantom Stranger 11, that was that. I had previously seen them posted on Facebook, and hadn't owned any with Tannarak (a vampire of human souls) and PS together. This is a nice fight scene between the 2 of them with PS delivering his classic roundhouse punch. For my money. the best pair since Jayne Mansfield (with a young Jennifer Love Hewitt close behind).

Apparently, in Batman v. Robin #2, but I didn’t read it. His other major villain(ess) is Talia, who I am pretty sure was intended to be PS’s opposite number.

Now that my collection is bigger, every year I go to my local big con (FanExpo Vancouver) saying I probably wouldn't buy anything, and I am proven wrong.

I ended up buying 5 covers (Young Justice, World's Finest, and Batman) as well as some Transformers Merchanising art
