The following Cerebus items just ended on Sotheby's /eBay, I thought I would post the results since there was some discussion about them earlier, esp. the Cerebus 4 pages. Ending prices include buyer's premium.

Seem like pretty robust sales. The last lot seems like a pretty reasonable deal to me, especially if there's a 9.4 or two in the issues under #5. You could certainly buy that lot, cherry pick it and get most/all of your $ back on eBay by listing the books/art individually.

Can't believe Motor City was outbid on the Cerebus 4 pages!! On a $-per-page basis, the Cerebus 4 pages seem pretty reasonable. About $600 a page, and these are really choice pages. To compare, the mixed pages went for about $700 a page yet are less desirable in my mind. On the other hand, only the big boys can fork out the $12K all in one shot...

Dim sum Dan,

Motor City's bid under normal circumstances would have been enough to win the entire bk. Cerebus orig art pgs usually avg $400-600/pg depending on content. I estimated that the entire bk would sell for about $8k. shocked.gif With a bulk lot of 20 interior pgs, Goldman's bid of $8,250 was SUBSTANTIAL. Keep in mind this lot did NOT include your fave Face to Waist Elrod the Albino battle cover art. Just goes to prove there r some VERY hardcore Dave Sim FANATICS in USA. The 2nd highest bidder Grandval is on the Lowry orig art collectors list & was outsniped at the end.

Another Kremer estate lot included 4 illos by Jeff Jones pen/ink, 2 Wrightson pencil illos (not Swampy or Frankenstein) blush.gif circa 1977, BW Smith superb Conan pencil illo. The hi-estimate was around $1,600. It realized $3,615 at Sotheby's.
