Well I figure since this post has Comic-Keys in the title Meth won't take long to insult my typos or grammer or some such but I don't care. I don't post much on this board but I wanted to let all of you guys like FF, Murph, CI, Darth, Scotty, know that I love reading your posts. I get alot of insightful comic info from reading your posts and I just wanted to let you know that I am an up and coming comic collecor from a younger generation. I am proud to share the same hobby as you guys. On the other hand however it makes me sick to read every single post Meth makes because I know he is hurting the hobby I love. If I missed any board vets who think they should have been mentioned sorry but I wrote this in haste. As for every post comic-keys makes to this thread he can go to hell.

Best wishes to all who love comics as much as I do,

SO, we have NEVER dealt on an item. Never met. Never talked. Never had a transaction between us and the first post you ever made concerning me is a highly negative one? I guess on this Forum, that somehow makes good sound horse-sense. Do you always venture so educated and studied an opinion on others based on your own experiences and your OWN judgement? Too bad it's not 70 years ago in the deep south. You missed out on joining many good lynch mobs by being born at the wrong time in history. Just out of curiousity, what else and who else do you HATE that you have absolutely no working knowledge of and never came in contact with?

Eric,

I think that last line in your post was uncalled for.

Meth,

On a topic largely unrelated to this particular thread, I have to ask you something, it's been bugging me. If you are as big and strong as you claim, and I have no reason to think otherwise, why the raging physical intimidation in some your posts? Because if you really can bench 600 pounds, why on Earth would you physically challenge people?

That's playing a game you know you're going to win. It's Michael Jordan playing hoops with a seven year old, it's Einstein calling someone else an insufficiently_thoughtful_person. What the heck for? Most of the big guys I've known over the years are gentle giants. They're secure that they can kick anyone's , so they don't bother threatening people in the first place.

I'd just ask you to look at your motives and also maybe lighten up a bit. I appreciate that you may feel ganged up on at times but I think some of your venomous reactions just fuel the fire.

Can't we all just get along? shocked.gif

Sorry to say, Meth... But you have a bad rep just about everywhere. I stopped by a tiny little comic shop in Calgary, Alberta, Canada(I know, who cares about us stoopid Canucks) when I was there for business and the guy behind the counter was giving me his two bits about the whole hobby of comic collecting and he even brought your name up (as Comic-Keys) as one of the reasons he is scared less about buying high grade non-cgc'd material off of e-bay and not two seconds after your name popped up another guy wandering around the store mentioned you and how he was freaked out by your odd auctions. I at this point I had never heard your name before(I immediatly went and checked your amazing auctions... WOW! stunning stuff, but odd) and would love to give you the benefit of the doubt on all acounts. But... If guys in the prairie wastlands of Canada even know about you and your rep, my God, maybe it's time you did change your practises.(Your name by the way is infamous with just about everyone in Canada and the US that I talk to about comics)

I have to say as an aside... I love checking your auctions and seeing all them stunning high grade gems(who cares if they are restored or not restored, would be nice to know in advance though) They are simply amazing pieces of eye candy and I'm sure most people on this board would feel proud to have at least a few if not all of them in their own collections... Good stuff... I just hope what is happenning here doesn't effect our hobby in a bad way for a newby comic book collector just dipping his toes into the pool and turns him off forever from collecting the coolest paper products in the world.

'best

Great question, Meth. To paraphrase, you asked "Who else do you HATE that you have never met and have no first hand knowledge of." Well, I don't want to speak for ericc123 (he seems to be doing just fine on his own) but if it helps you understand the gist of his post, here are a few people I hate that I have never met or had any first hand knowledge of:

Hitler, Stalin, Idi Amin, Saddam Hussein, Osama Bin Laden

Child pornographers, rapists, NAMBLA (every single member)

Martha Stuart (imclone scandal), The Keeting 5 (savings and loan debacle), Andrew Fastow (Enron) AND CROOKED CHEATS AND LIARS WHO SCAM HONEST, HARD-WORKING PEOPLE OUT OF THEIR MONEY AND GIVE THE INDUSTRY/HOBBY THEY ARE ASSOCIATED WITH A BAD NAME.

Granted, I (and others) may just be rushing to judgment against these people. I mean there are those who say the Dachau was nothing more than a labor camp during WW II and that NAMBLA is a great organization for kids. However, I think the overwhelming majority of CIRCUMSTANTIAL evidence is enough to allow open-minded, clear headed, semi-intelligent people to draw a reasonable inference of the truth.

Hope this helps.

That is some list of "winners" on there....I think I've got the same MUST HATE: list here in my pocket too tongue.gif

Bronty, In the real world, wherever I go, I am respected, as I respect others. I hold doors open for people, even if they're 100 feet away but coming my way, and when I stop short in driving, making a panic stop, I STILL stick my right arm out to keep them from lurching forward in their seat, even though they're wearing a belt and shoulder belt. Habits of respect. I go to the gym, I work out with Pro wrestlers, and MOST of them call me "Big Guy". People recognize intense dedication when they see it, and when they don't, formulate their own opinion. As I've said before, in the real world, I confront NOBODY and I'm constantly approached by many with endless questions about lifting when I'm out. "How big are your arms", How'd you get your shoulders like that, How can I lose this gut, etc. I don't ignore them, I encouage them by telling them that if ONE man can do it, another can. How much pain can you stand. I walk into a 7-11 for an OJ and I'll hear giggling first, then look and get eye contact + a thumbs up from women, usually leave with a phone number if I think she's attractive and feel good about it. It feels GOOD that the hard work, the agony, the injuries, when they occur aren't for nothing. It feels GOOD to feel good about yourself. I ALWAYS have a smile on my face in the real world and I'm eager to encourage people because my frame of mind is good because I feel good about myself. ON HERE, it is the OPPOSITE. I can't defend myself fast enough from one charge before 10 more pile on and I'm NOT used to it. I'm used to respect and giving respect. OLD SCHOOL. Sorry if I come off beligerent, but at least I SPEAK MY MIND.

So, it looks like all the evidence I can present in the universe wouldn't get me off this hit list of yours, even though you repeatedly email me with want lists, the last one being about 1 week ago. I'm lying, right?

Bronzie, what dealings did these Canucks in the Frozen Canadian wastelands have with me that their fears were based on? Reading this Board?

hey meth, just wanted to know out of all of your auctions on ebay how many sellers wrote you back and said they sent comics to get slabbed and they came back restored? shocked.gif

I'm starting to think that the whole "Lets gang up on Comic-Keys' Thing is getting really old... Meth... What makes you happy about collecting comics? What are your fave titles? Are you like me... Someone who picked back up on collecting after you grew up and got a good job so that you could afford all them pretty titles you couldn't as a kid? Whats your story as a collector? I know I want to know...

Hey Bronzejunkie,

..and fellow Vancouverite...

What's your name? Do you go to the shows here? If so, I may already know you.

Meth maybe I have been wrong. I can see how this all has gotten to me and I was quick to jump on the bandwaggon of Comic-Keys haters. Here is a compromise I think we can all settle on. Post an attachment of your huge body and we will know you are not lieing. If you are truthful about that maybe others will believe you and you will someday be just fine with comic collectors in Canada.

Good to know you like reading our posts, Eric. I'm kinda hoping if we post a lot about pertinant subjects, some new people to comics will stop by and hopefully gain more knowledge and more interest in comics. As for the topic of Meth, can we stop creating posts for him to reply on? He's on pace to catch up to my post total in a couple weeks frown.gif

Dolphin, I posted the exact statistics form my log journals of sales, approx 2750 transactions somewhere on the forum in one of the threads. I will look for it and copy it here in answer to your question. It was something like:

2750 total items sold.

Approx 80 to 85% UNSLABBED.

38 returns total, 19 or so for restoration

AVG. dollar value per book...$1300

Avg. grade per book NM 9.4

That's 1 out of every 130 UNSLABBED HIGH GRADE silver age books sold coming back as defective. Considering a CGC margin of error (I know, they DON'T make errors), I think that's exemplory on THAT type of material!!!!!

No, Meth... The Canucks just viewed your e-bay dealings in an almost religious manner(it seems alot of collectors do, your a famous man, Meth) They are just weirded out why such fine super high grade keys weren't slabbed right away. It seems fishy... Thats the general conscensus I've been hearing, anyway... But, I have hit the point now where I don't give a damn, do your thing, just have fun collect'n.

Dana, YOU DIDN"T JUST EMAIL ME, asking me to end the auction early on the FF26 for you. Keep in mind I STILL have the email complete with unalterable HEADERS (an AOL feature). I STILL have your want list emails. Care to recant or should I attatch them?
