To slab or not to slab - that is the question?

Dilemma: Have a mid grade key issue. Don't know enough on demand other than what is posted here now and then. Should I slab or will the return on this be less than the slab fee due to higher graded copies meeting current demand:

Notice chip under "L" in ALL at bottom and very worn spine, dulled corners as well.

Potential candidate for grading

The return just won't be worth it. I think the best and probably a common use of the mid level (and lower) slabs is for the restoration check and grade confirmation on higher priced books. More of an intermediate step to faciliate a sale.

if it does come back a 6.5, I'd guess you could still get 50-60 dollars for it like the 6.0 I saw sell for 45. But anyways, I'd leave it ungraded and sell it as Fine with a BIN of 50 dollars.
