9.8 NM/MT because I want to throw off Ricky's poll! And, yes I'm the first 9.8 on the poll! WOOHOO!

 

I just sold one of these: DAREDEVIL #49 G/VG 2/69 DAREDEVIL DROPS OUT! ebay item 714144150 for $0.99 and this copy is only slightly better (btw I don't think my scan is still there). Can you see why one would list at NM/MT 9.8? CHA-CHING!!! Doesn't make it right tho...

I won't state a grade specifically, but having looked at this picture alone I can see: a possibly soiled white cover that certainly does not look bright; what looks like rumpling or possibly ripples of water damage on the bottom right, possibly rounded corners all around; multiple stress lines, bends and other marks along the spine; what may be a crease with color break along the bottom middle half of the cover; and a rather pronounced wraparound at the bottom with the back cover intruding by, let's say 1/8", or maybe just a 1/16" to be conservative. Oh yes and the staples are off-center too since the bottom one is visible and the top one is not.

Any chance you could add a scan of the back cover? Also what is the interior paper like? What color is the paper. Are there any stains or tears to the interior cover or pages? For an honest grade all this must be included in the grade.

Finer examples of the 9.8 grade are few and far between...

You know, I'm just going to have to call the printer and stop the presses. This is too superb an example of near perfection for us NOT to include it in the Guide.

No need to drag this any longer. Obviously this book doesn't even close to a "9.8 NM/MT" grade you insufficiently_thoughtful_person. Fine 5.5-6.5 wins by a long shot. Better luck to you next time deadbeat seller!
