Please Grade this Superman 53

A person I know is looking to purchase this book and the seller was claiming that this was a 9.0 As usual, I feel the seller has totally overestimated the grade on this book. I was wondering what your thoughts were. Thanks!

Well, he did overgrade that's for sure. Probably a 7.5.

There are like seven spine creases there...but it is a sharp copy. Some funky stuff on the back cover tho. 7.0, but it might be worth more than the average 7.0 copy.

Agree with marvelcollector. There seems to be some spotting on Superman on the FC, and would take it out of 8.0+ even without the spine wear & creasing. Looks great for the grade, but no more than 6.5 from me.

I don't see any spotting. But I'll admit 7.5 might be on the high side. I'd definetly say it would be a solid 7.0. I wouldn't go under a 7.0.

Too bad the seller won't budge on the price/grade as it is still a nice copy.

A very nice book. If you have it in hand, check the edge of the back cover by the girls hand. It looks like there is a tear there about 1/4 inch. If that is so, it may be a book I once owned and there was rice paper on that tear. Check for other minor (and probably reversed) restoration.
