Sad Sack Stories? A few questions....

4 posts in this topic

What are complete Sad Sack stories from the mid 1960s worth? These are 23 or 32 pages of art, with color guides. Art is in incredible condidtion having been stored for years in large envelopes?

Does anyone have a good idea. I have a chance to buy a few complete books, minus covers.

Thanks

Here's a couple of links to past Heritagecomics.com auctions for complete Sad Sack issues:

Sad Sack and the Sarge #74 - $414.00 :

You might need to register with Heritage to see the auction results. I hope this helps some! - Keith

Do you have a genuine interest in the SAD SACK art, or are you looking to buy as a potential investment?

If you have a liking for the art, I believe they're excellent buys/great value for money (based on sale prices quoted).

If you're investment-focussed, I doubt that you'll be seeing a good return on any outlay for the foreseeable future as Heritage are sitting on a ton of Harvey art. They're a specialised interest that probably hold little or no interest for mainstream OA collectors.

Personally, I love the Harvey stuff and am currently putting-together a selection of 1960s cover examples. They were the first American comic-books I collected as a kid - so there's a deep nostalgic fondness for me, here (and I think the art is terrific). Sale prices are usually low, which is great for me (1960s covers at prices ranging from $100 - 200). grin.gif
