One of my all-time favorite covers

It's a killer cover, and really hard to find in decent shape... I think it's actually harder than #87 in my opinion.

 

As great as this cover is, it is actually the same as the splash page in the following issue, #89, which features just an incredible art job by Russ Heath. That would lead you think that this cover is by Heath - but it's actually by Joe Kubert!

 

Either way - it's awesome!

What a great thread!! There is some Killer books posted here. Some of my faves are Mystery in Space# 55, Green Lantern# 8, Brave & the Bold# 44, which I own copies of these myself. The war books posted are Sublime!!

How about some Sea Devils covers guy's? Great Russ Heath art Esp. Showcase # 27,# 28 , #29 & #1, & # 2 my personal fave.I also own copies of. I know one of you has to have a high grade copy to post. Love to see it!! Bring it on!!

Is there an earlier issue of Detective Comics with a greytone cover than this Jan. 1957 issue?

The Sea Devil book is a 10 center and that is the only Batman/Detective book that is a grey tone.
