Tales of the Unexpected #43 1st Space Ranger Cover. I am not sure how bad the chip in the upper right corner brings it down. Please eloborate on how you noted the chip. No creases.

Are you sure there are no creases? I see several marks along the length of the spine that look like creases to me.

Sorry, I meant no corner creases, but slightly blunted lower right corner. What i am really asking is how a chip like that effects the grade. Meaning, does it automatically knock it out of the fine category, even if the rest was considerred fine?

I'd say it's a 5.0. I don't think that corner necessarily takes it out of 6.0, but it certainly makes it tough. For it to be a 6.0 I'd think that the rest of the book would have to be high grade.

I agree, the chip will hurt this otherwise sweet book in terms of technical grade. If I were selling, I'd probably reluctantly call it a 4.5, only because I don't think a book can have a piece missing FC and grade any higher. Call it 4.5/5.0 overall, barring anything unforeseen on the back.

Chip in urc drops it below 6.0. Other defects overall bring the book to a 4.5
