Nice. How did that copy get to Massachusetts? These boys travel well

I'm not sure where I got that one... I do recall getting some very nice War books from Goldust, who is in the U.K....

I'm pretty sure these 2 were, though they weren't stamped.  I seem to recall one of them was... Might have been the 87

A fine purveyor of the medium :manhero:

The internet is a wonderful thing in many ways, but you can't beat an old paper comic catalogue. Maybe you ordered from the one below!

I've been watching the January MCS Prime auction and a CGC 6.0 copy of War Adventures (1952) 12 sold for $530 with 35 bids.  Can anyone shine some light into the (seemingly) high hammer price?  I have a number of 1952 books in somilar condition and am just wondering if now is finally the time to start moving them.

Item #57919608 Front Cover: War Adventures #12 CGC 6.0

High demand issue and well within lines of prior sales.

I assume it's simply the cover that makes it key?  I have some Battlefiels and others denoted as sought after covers as well.  It seems almost arbitraty ;)

Yes.  Everyone has their favorites, but in general if you think it's a good cover chances are someone else does also.

That particular cover is known to be particularly well-loved.

Love the UK distribution stamp. How did that copy come your way, Stevie?

I purchased the book from Bob Storms a few years ago with several other OAAW and they all had the same stamp.  Someone noted on Facebook that the stamps are from Australia although I thought Great Britain so I’m not sure myself.

Here’s a piece of original artwork by Russ Heath. Obviously, it’s not a war drawing, but I was thinking some of you may appreciate it.

I got this from Russ in person a few years back.  He told me that he wasn’t doing that great in high school, but his best subject was art. (Obviously) He said that this single piece brought his grade up enough in biology, and that enabled him to graduate from high school.

It’s a drawing of a real skull, dated February 18, 1944
