There’s a PL 13 going off in the auction today I believe, but it’s not up to snuff. There’s no 9 at the front, decent replacement to fill the hole for now. 😜

Took a lame shot at the Promise copy, but it went a little higher than I was ready to go.

Your PC seems pretty well manicured.  It was 1of 2 highest graded, and about 1/12th of the #17 hammer, but more than a few shekels.  Can’t snag ‘em all.  Just leaving some for the rest of us.  Thank you for you grace.  I wasn’t the lucky bidder either lol.

Not sure where these 2 early Fox Mystery men books are going to finish up at on Monday, but not a lotta love being shown right now at only $220 each:  :frown:

Golden Age (1938-1955):Superhero, Mystery Men Comics #5 (Fox, 1939) CGC FR/GD 1.5 Cream to off-white pages....

Golden Age (1938-1955):Superhero, Mystery Men Comics #6 (Fox, 1940) CGC VG- 3.5 Light tan to off-white pages....

Little bit more love for the Mystery Men 3 at $525 and definitely a whole lotta love being shown for the CGC 1.8 graded copy of Science Comics 4 which is already at $1,860 including the 20% BP juice with still another 18 hours to go.  :applause:

I always get a double take when people realize it's literally only the front cover.

Even still. :x

Hoping to one day find a remainder copy to marry it to, but not holding my breath.

Awesome. Once entombed in plastic, the front cover is all you get to enjoy anyway! And this one is a classic. Love it.

Well, looks like somebody here managed to get a steal of a deal and I should have been there during the real time portion of the auction as they beat my bid from the other night by only a piddly $2:    :censored:

Golden Age (1938-1955):Superhero, Blue Beetle #35 (Fox Features Syndicate, 1944) CGC FN- 5.5 Off-white to white pages....

Not sure about the interior, but this book definitely presents much nicer than its assigned CGC 5.5 grade from both its front and back cover scans.  Definitely can't argue too much about the final price which came in at only $89 including the BP juice, which is a at a deep discount to condition guide for a book with only 4 copies graded to date and the first one Heritage has apparently seen in 15 years.  (thumbsu

Any bets that if this copy here had the Promise Collection label on it, even in the same graded condition, it would have sold for multiples of condition guide, as opposed to the current huge discount to condition guide that it did sell for.  :(

agreed, that was a shockingly low price for a seemingly undergraded Fox book in today's market.  Not sure how to explain it, ordinarily this book would go for several hundred.

Picked up a second issue of the Science Comics run.  Now I have my favorite cover of the run (#2) and my lease favorite (#8)!

I know what you mean for sure! I still kinda like it, in the way that I like all those lunkheaded Fox hero covers. Kind of funny to see them shoehorned into SCIENCE Comics of all places. You can almost hear Victor Fox guiding this one -- "The kids are buying superheroes? OK, we'll give them effing superheroes!!"

I don't follow the Fox market but I'd be curious what folks think this copy of Weird Comics 7 might go for in today's market. I picked this up in the mid 2000's before the Fox market went crazy because I liked the cover and it was so pretty. Bought from A1 Comics it was noted as cleaned and pressed so I guess a purple label of some sort? Great book on the inside I loved the Sorceress of Zoom story the most.

Great book! One data point: here's a sharp-looking VG+ #7 that HA sold for $1380. Seems loosely in the same ballpark as your copy.

Thanks, well I did well on that buy if that is the ballpark!
