Bindery tear? that's a laugh . . . it's corner damage, plain and simple.

Sweet as the book is, I'd guess 7.0 tops. Looks like a ding ULC as well as bindery chip, and some deeper spine stress that shows on the back as well. Still very nice!

It might squeak into a 7.5, but that top corner is pretty roughed-up.

The Grading Bastiche says ....8.5. I just saw a 9.0 with the same defect so, you should beat 7.5 hands down.

If thats a stain on the BC he has a shot at 7.5, but I doubt it will grade any higher than that.

I have to challenge the 7.5 assessment. I think the damage on the top spine is bad enough to drop the book to a 6.5. Then again, are they slightly generous with GA books?
