I don't think this specific flaw is mentioned in the overstreet grading guide.

 

 

"Grease Slick not allowed in grades FN and above"

 

I wonder if the cover could be solvent cleaned, color touched and restored to a F/VF or better.......

 

Any amature restorer on the boards interested that wants to try

 

Of course there'd be no increase in value, but hey, I think a good is only worth 10-20$ anyway in the overstreet.

But there has already been massive color/ink loss on the cover, so removing the grease stain wouldn't help it.

That looks like it was caused by someone trying to clean the book with lacquer thinner or acetone. A stain would be on top of the ink, this looks like the inks were wiped off in spots.
