Been a while since I posted, but got my hands on ASM #6, at a 2.0. Three staples were added after manufacturing but it still presents really well, and it’s the first book in the single digits that I’ve been able to get! Truly happy and thankful to have gotten it, and it’s one of many treasures in my collection! Happy collecting everyone!

Congrats!  Single digit ASM’s are the best!   Great looking book!

Welcome back. As everyone has said, it’s a beauty of a 2.0! It’s all about getting nice “presenters.” That being said, it’s a great feeling to have a single digit ASM, especially a first appearance. I’ve only owned this book once, and it’s one I’m currently missing. It’s a tough one for sure!

I’m still waiting on this original owner to sell me one of his ASM runs! I may be waiting a bit, but patience is a virtue!

Quick question. I'm looking to upgrade my ASM #47 from a 7.0 w to an 8.0 ow/w. I'm wondering if anyone can shed light on why this issue in grade 8.0 is listed as having a FMV of only $210.00 on GoCollect when the last three most recent sales of an 8.0 ow/w were $444.00 (on 06/07/22) , $490.00 (on 05/16/22) , and $329.00 (on 03/09/22). Also,an 8.0 w sold for $425.00 on 02/25/22. Is the spike in sold prices of ASM 47 8.0 vs. FMV as listed on GoCollect due to the movie speculation of an upcoming Kraven film, or is this issue really worth upwards of $400.00? Just don't want to get ripped off paying $400.00 for a book that's current sold value is based solely on movie speculation. Thanks in advance for your opinions!

GPA has the same 8.0 sale and a 7.0 sale in August at $300.  You're right - the book's way up across grades.  Not sure how you're going to avoid (temporary) FMV increases based on movie speculation except by waiting until post-movie.  It is frustrating.

I'm not tracking that book, but $210 just sounds low to me based on what I've seen other ASM's go for.  It's an awesome cover too.

Buy it and hold.  Even if you overpay a little right now, you'll come out ahead.  I paid upper GPA 10 years ago when I bought my 15 and 20.  I look like a "genius" now.

If you're planning on holding, hard to go wrong with SA ASM.

Magnificent!

Books like that represent to me the most rewarding aspects of our hobby. A reading copy of one of the greatest silver age stories ever written, by an artist at the height of his power. Enjoy it!

Very much so.
I do focus on Spidey titles but also recently picked up FF51 just because it’s such a great story. That’s why we love what we do imo.

You know, a permanent thread that would be really helpful would be one that covers things like this - "what is the best wrap on issue #_______ of title ________" for the Silver Age comics for which that is something to watch for.  People much more knowledgeable than I would need to make it happen.
