Thanks - it's a very sporadic effort because of the sheer size and cost of the issues I "need" across the Silver Age.  FF "holes" are 1-20 (haha), 23, 25-28, 39, 40, 46.  It's a lot.  Honestly, I also have low to mid-grade copies of 33 to the end of the Silver Age, with some pretty nice books here and there and certainly higher grades after about #80.  So I am also upgrading as opportunities might arise.  My "minimum" is 8.5/VF+ supposedly but I'm happy to get books over 9 when they present.  From a "let's be realistic here" perspective, I'm focused on actively seeking high grade 39, 40 and 46 at the moment and picking up any others opportunistically.  It's daunting.

Thanks for providing all that info.  I will just say that you're not far from completing #21 up, which is an impressive feat, and you are WAY better off saying you need 23, 25-28, 39, 40, and 46 than you would be if you said you needed #45, 48-50, and 52, that's for damn sure!!!  I haven't looked in a while so I don't know if #28 (vs. the X-Men) is pricey these days but the ones you still need beyond #20 are all reasonably affordable.  You're going to get there!

A pick-up from the recent @Dale Roberts sale.  This is an upgrade of the first FF comic I bought off the newsstand, which I still have.  I loved this "team-up" style story and read that book over and over again.  Hence the "need" for the upgrade (and an example of "why would you have 2 copies of the same book?" for @Math Teacher

I also had a couple pick-ups from the Dale Roberts holiday thread. #51 has been eluding me for quite some time.  I've had a number of close  where I thought too much and some else jumped in so I decided to jump on this one. The KS #6 I've been after for a while too. I have a feeling that we'll see Annihilus at some point in the MCU.

Thanks! It was unplanned, but my collecting journeys have taken me from FF 1-50, to 1-20, to 1-14, back to 1-20 plus 48-63 and a bunch in between

Here’s a somewhat current image of my 1-14 run. I probably posted this in this thread pages back. The yellow label #4 has long been replaced with a mid grade raw copy. There are a few upgrade slabs that are not pictured, but the rest of the copies shown have been with me for many, many years.

I borrow a term from the late Mark Alexander and refer to the run of 44-67 as "The Apotheosis". These books were so good, and for decades very affordable. It stuns me that everyone didn't collect this run. It also stuns me that I never bothered to find better copies, but it is what it is.

I was never a big FF guy but I had the Galactus Trilogy because, well, you know. I had pretty much finished my Spidey run so I figured I would do exactly what KJ recommended above; collect FF 44-67. I wound up stretching it to issue 73 and then stretching it the other way to 38. I also have annuals 1-6 so I’m quite satisfied with my run.

FWIW, if you were to stretch further to issue 35, you’d have the start of continuing stories in Fantastic Four. I believe that marks a giant step toward the greatness to follow.
