Planning on reading the stories, or hunting slabs? Focusing on Silver Age, Bronze Age, Copper / Modern Age, or all of the above? Lots of happy hunting to be had depending on your answers. Thank you! Right now with my upcoming PCS to Korea, and move after my tour there, I'm not looking to much into runs at the moment. Keys and Silver age would be my first focus I would say. Also any with great Punisher covers as I'm also a big fan of him.

Also any with great Punisher covers as I'm also a big fan of him. OK, let's see how much help I can provide off the top of my head! In the Silver Age, any of the first 10 issues would be great additions to any collection, with #1 obviously the biggest of the bunch and #7 probably the second-most sought after. #3, #4, and #8 feature the first appearances of the Owl, Purple Man, and Stilt-Man respectively. For some reason, #9 is a notably easy book to find in high grade and (at least the last time I checked) is usually a pretty affordable way to get a nice early DD book. People like #12 because IIRC it's the first Silver Age appearance of Ka-Zar. And then there's #16 with its awesome Spidey / DD cover (#17 too, sort of). #18 is the first Gladiator. After that, I'm not sure there are any real Silver Age DD "keys" (it all depends on your definition) but a lot of folks like #30 and #43 because they feature Thor and Captain America, respectively. #37 and #38 have Doctor Doom, and #45 has a nice photo cover that I always liked. In the Bronze Age, #100 is a nice cover and #105 is a bit pricier because it's a Moondragon "key" (whatever!) ... X-Men fans like #111 (1st Silver Samurai) and there are also sellers who try to pump the price of #115 because it contains an ad for Hulk #181 -- I would not recommend paying a premium for that book. The one everybody wants is #131 which is the first Bullseye, and since he also appears in #132 you can go after that one as well. I don't think DD meets the Punisher until the Frank Miller run, which starts with #158. #168 has the first appearance of Elektra, and she "dies" in #181. #183 has the classic cover where the Punisher shoots DD in the stomach. I hope this is useful! Superman2006, nmtg9, The Man Without Beer and 3 others

nearmint
This Heritage buyer can't be happy. He paid $28,800 just a few weeks ago, then another copy in 9.8 sells last night at CL for $10,638...

Sweet Lou 14
As I just said above, #9 is relatively common in high grade. Don’t have the census numbers handy but I just know from experience.

I might include 13 in there as well. Ka-Zar's origin and any book in which Kirby joins Romita is like having Jordan and Bill Russell on same team! Is there any DD with a better cover than 13? Like ever?...16 is noteworthy because it's the first Romita spidey art and I think 12 is considered Romita's kick off to his run CapAm notwithstanding. First 20 DDs in high grade have been moving strong the last year they were pretty dormant for years and years before that was expecting 6-8k on this book because 9s Are very common in 9.6 and even 9.8 in comparison to the other first 19 issues The 28k aside 11k is still a solid price wonder if the 28k played a part in that i am assuming this 28k was collector at that price which means a couple of more grand on top of that for sales tax

Icculus308win
Curb appeal on that book doesn’t remotely look like a 4.0. Nice Christmas gift🤘 SpeedforceKJ

Nice Christmas gift🤘 I thought so as well. We're low-mid grade collectors when it comes to keys, so the grade was in our range and the price I picked it up for wasn't bad at all but it just presents so well that I had to jump at it.
