What grade would you give this comic?

One of my funnier instances with CGC...see if you can grade this one accurately. It's a modern book so you know it's at least NM 9.0 and up...

0.5 Poor due to incompleteness as a result of a printing defect--publisher didn't print the front cover!

Creases are hard to see on the white, but the edges look fairly sharp. Maybe it is a double cover? So I would grade it 9.6 Qualified - Blank cover.

scanner shadows..nothing shows my scanner shortcomings like scanning a white cover

...is that white-out I see ... wait... nope... . Looks perfect from here. Another 10.0.

Well let's see... the 1" tear on page 8 drops it down to 9.6...

 

and the 1/4" tear on the front cover drops it to 9.0...

 

and the small piece of tape on the back cover drops it to 5.5...

 

and the water damage drops it to 5.0...

 

(all of those are actual flaws on actual CGC graded comics I have seen, the days of "It can't be higher than XXXX because it has XXXX" are long over)

 

But since this is a book from Darth, we'll go with Apparent 9.6 with Extensive Amateur Restoration (entire cover erased with a Dixon-Ticonderoga pencil)...

I'm guessing 9.6 WHITE. It would be higher but there's a loss of cover gloss. But actually, it's a nice example of CYCLOPS, BEHIND THE MASK.

I guess I though CGC would remove the white protector cover? But I guess not.

that's given a qualified label but older books with writing on them get a normal label..interesting.
